Chapter 803 - 744: Ancient Fairy Plane
Duke looked down at the nine remaining Starlight Dew in his hand, pondering the information he had researched earlier.
Starlight Dew, the most top-tier auxiliary cultivation item among Level 2 Magic Potions, is said to greatly enhance meditation effects and increase spiritual power.
But its exact formula has never been disclosed; all that is known is that its raw materials are extremely rare and precious.
Even though it’s a Level 2 Magic Potion, it still has auxiliary effects for the meditation practice of a Level 3 Mage.
Due to the scarcity of its raw materials, it has never been mass-produced, and the formula has never been published.
For the next month, Duke’s life returned to tranquility.
He meditated every day, consuming a vial of Starlight Dew every two or three days, then spent the next two or three days entirely in meditation to fully utilize the effects of the Starlight Dew.
Duke found through actual testing that although the boost effect of Starlight Dew was said to last only a day, it was in fact far more than just a day.
The effects of meditation on the second and third days were still quite good, just not as effective as on the first day.
So to maximize the potion’s effectiveness, Duke needed to continue meditating in the succeeding two days as well.
Over the month, his spiritual power increased significantly.
[Spirit: 375.3]
Nearly 140 points away from the basic requirement of 512 points for promoting to a Level 3 Mage.
The road is still long.
But he’s in no hurry.
Gaining nearly 25 points in a month is already much faster than regular meditation.
The effect of Starlight Dew on spiritual power growth was the best Duke had experienced, second only to the Golden Tree Fruit.
After all, the fruit of the Golden Tree directly increases spiritual power, while the Starlight Dew aids in meditation and requires time to digest.
Duke currently has 1200 contribution points, which seems like a lot.
But in reality, it can’t be exchanged for anything particularly good, leaving him in a middle-ground.
Day-to-day necessities like borrowing books from the library were affordable though, so he decided to save up a bit more.
Ordinary resources don’t hold much value for him; contribution points must be used wisely.
Duke quietly went about his business as usual, keeping a low profile.
Occasionally, minor conflicts and clashes occurred on the island, and several duels had taken place in the Sky Arena.
The tension wasn’t just between the West Coast and the Golden Continent; there was friction among wizards from other regions too.
Duke had little interest in all of this; once he grasped the gist of these feuds, he paid them no mind.
He didn’t intend to be drawn into it, nor did he want to waste time on such meaningless matters.
What Duke hadn’t expected was that Vera would invite him to a small social gathering.
Since Duke ranked fifth in the Illusion Tower, his combat ability had evidently been acknowledged by others.
Coupled with his high-level Earth Element Affinity Talent, no one would treat him as a mere elemental mage anymore.
Duke wasn’t sure why Vera had invited him, but after some thought, he decided to attend.
...
In the evening, Duke pushed open the door to the banquet hall.
It was a much smaller room than the one Raymond had used for his previous banquet, with only a dozen chairs and a long table in the center adorned with simple snacks and drinks.
The room wasn’t crowded, but the faces were familiar.
Vera stood at one end of the long table, still in her white magic robe, as cool and composed as ever. Seeing Duke enter, she gave a slight nod.
Leon sat by the window, holding a glass of wine, acknowledged Duke with a nod of his chin.
Edmond was there too, the warlock from the White Cliff Academy, ranked ninth in the Illusion Tower.
Seeing Duke, his eyes lit up, and he stood up proactively: "Lord Duke! Please, have a seat."
There were three other people, whom Duke found familiar; they seemed to be from the West Coast, likely seen at some event, but he couldn’t recall their names.
They gazed at Duke with curiosity and scrutiny as he entered.
After all, this quiet figure had climbed to fifth place in the Illusion Tower, surpassing countless geniuses.
Duke nodded slightly and chose a seat beside the long table.
Once Duke was settled, Vera began to speak softly:
"I invited everyone here today because there’s something I’d like to discuss."
Her voice, cool yet naturally composed, compelled silence from the audience.
"There’s a channel on the Central Islands that can take us to a Parallel Plane."
Parallel Plane.
Duke’s eyes glimmered slightly; he had read numerous books in the library recently and had encountered information regarding this subject.
A Parallel Plane, as it’s called, is a plane without its own native civilization, or rather a plane that once had a civilization but no longer does, with many civilizations from various other planes interacting there, yet belonging to none of them.
Such Parallel Planes were often once quite prosperous, but due to various reasons, the native civilization collapsed, leaving just the shell of a plane without powerful indigenous beings.
The will of the plane is generally dead, yet it remains a plane that has developed over countless ages, brimming with treasure.
"That plane is called the Ancient Fairy Plane," Vera continued, "It was once a High Plane, inhabited by creatures known as Ancient Fairies. It’s said they resemble fruits, with Watermelon People, Durian People, Grape People, in all sorts of forms."
Edmond couldn’t help but interject, "Fruits becoming spirits?"
